As we go thru some changes, please bear with us. Growing pains are a necessary step in our commitment to provide family events for those dealing with disabilities and/or special needs.
If you are interested in volunteering your time or services to GGI, please see our current volunteer needs at www.handsonforsyth.org and search for us. You can even sign up directly on the “HandsOnForsyth” website. How easy is that?
HERE’S A SAMPLE OF SOME OF OUR ACTIVITES: · Super Kids Night @ Chick Fil A the 2nd Saturday of every month · Providing financial scholarships for Special needs karate · Assisted with costs of Special Needs Cheerleading uniforms · Monthly respite (specialized childcare for a much needed parental break, monetary donation to FOCUS-Families of Children Under Stress) · Angels In The Alley (special needs bowling), monetary donation · Family Movie Days at Movies 400 · Bi Monthly Newsletter · In 2008, placed our first adapted swing at Chestatee Elementary and will soon be placing more swings at Cumming Elementary, Mashburn Elementary and Dave’s Creek Elementary. · But that isn’t all, The River United Methodist Church Family Festival raised enough funds to place a wheelchair accessible swing and a positional swing at a local county park. (the park and location inside the park is still being decided as Sharon Springs has plans to relocate its playground area). We will forward that information to everyone as soon as it becomes available to us.
Planning ahead: · Family Picnic Day · Varied Seminars Bi-Monthly · Our long term “Handicapped Accessible Swing In Every Park” Goal is to have at least one (1) or more handicapped accessible swings at every school, city and county park in Forsyth County. The types and sizes of swings will be varied throughout the county to provide for a variety of needs for our GGI Families.
HOW CAN YOU HELP OUR GRAYSON’S GIFT FAMILES? · Don’t Google the web, use Goodsearch for free instead as you surf the web to earn money for GGI. Be sure to enter Grayson’s Gift as your charity before searching the web. · Make a donation in honor/memory of a loved one · Volunteer to help at our various events · Assist fundraising efforts by donating an item for our Annual Golf Tournament/Silent Auction · Any in-kind donation is welcome (just $6 covers the cost of 1 person at our Super Kids Night, a $1000 donation allows us to put 2-3 adapted swings at various schools and parks) · Ask your employer about matching funds donations · Designate us for your United Way of Forsyth, automatic payroll deduction · Purchase a GGI car magnet today!! They make great gifts for family, friends, therapists, teachers and more!
